Vacation Bible Camp June 6 - 10
Once again we are recruiting for a fun fan-tab-ulous week of Vacation Bible Camp: SON ROCK KID’S CAMP. This year we are learning the parables of Jesus. If you would like to help out, we definitely need and want your involvement. Here are just a few job descriptions. If you can’t commit to a full week, that’s FINE! We need lots and lots and lots of help!

Camp Guides
To be a camp guide you need to enjoy being around children, have a sense of humor and flexible nature. The camp guides walk a group of campers (designated by age group) from each activity. They function as additional help for the camp leaders. (Camp leaders are the people who have recreation, learning, music and crafts organized.) You will work with the same children each day getting to know them. The timing for the camp guide is 8:55 – 12:30.

Camp Grandparents
To be a camp grandparent you need to have a listening heart, and a good book. The camp grandparents have special rockers where they can relax. When a child needs a little special attention, one of the counselors (youth) will encourage the child to visit the grandparent. As a grandparent you can listen to the camper and provide some one-on-one care. After some quiet time, rest, relaxation, the camper is encouraged to join their group again. There are two different shifts, morning 9 -12:30 and afternoon12:30 -5.

Afternoon Electives
Each afternoon the campers have a different course of study they can enjoy. If you like to cook, knit, tie dye, paint, or have any area of interest that you would like to share with a group of campers, then we need YOUR help. Monday – Thursday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. you will have forty minutes with a group of campers to instruct them in a particular area of interest.
