A STEPHEN MINISTRY CONGREGATION

"But He said, ‘The things that are impossible with men are possible with God.’”
Luke 18:27

May 19 Kirk Night: Stephen Leaders David Wiszneauckas, Louise Sadler, Sandra Wiszneauckas and John Lown are planning the program, “How to Improve Ourselves and Others Without Criticizing.” Do you see yourself or others doing something wrong? Are you, or do you see someone else, doing something that could be done better? What guidance can we find in the Bible about making helpful not hurtful remarks, acting in a helpful not a harmful manner? Come and explore how to improve ourselves and others in kind, direct, constructive ways.

(Note to Stephen Ministers: This program is designed around “Caring Criticism,” Chapters 1-4, and is offered in lieu of Continuing Education scheduled Monday, May10. Stephen Ministers will not meet Monday, May 10, for Supervision Group.)

Window Closing: The window of opportunity is closing on registering to attend Stephen Leader Series Training in Orlando, June 13-19. Talk with a dedicated LPC Stephen Leader - John, Louise, Sandra, David - about their experience. Receive a copy of the Leader Selection Booklet which answers questions about the role of a Stephen Leader. Get a Training Registration Form and assistance in registering. Enjoy the journey.

Stephen Ministry Bio Brief: Patricia Hunt, Stephen Minister, was born in Williamsville, IL and raised within the 1st Christian denomination. Pat served as a Vacation Bible School volunteer at 1st Christian (IL); Reformed Church (New York); and First Presbyterian (Eustis, FL.) She sang in the choir at 1st Christian (and served as the Church Choir Director for two years.) Pat was a member of the First Presbyterian choir and sings in the choir at LPC. In August, 2009, Pat was commissioned by the LPC congregation to serve God and Christ as a Stephen Minister. About Pat’s personal faith journey Pat says, “My Mother and Grandmother gave me a foundation in faith that has served me all my days. I’ve been surrounded by loving people and dear friends during my life who reaffirm strength and goodness even during trials. I’ve truly met some of His angels. Caring and being cared for are life’s richest blessings.” Bible passages key to Pat’s faith are: Luke 18:27; Mark 12:30; John 3:16.
