Life is mysterious, that’s the
truth. For people of faith, much of the mystery is removed.
Scores of people of faith, who embrace the love of God and
Jesus, our Savior, will gather in Orlando, FL during the week of
June 13-19 to receive Stephen Series Leader’s Training. They
will be women and men who embody vision, commitment, and have an
aptitude for communication. They will be men and women who
believe that God and Christ care for people through people and
that Stephen Ministry is a vital component of church life and
mission.
The LPC will send as many as four members of the congregation to
Orlando for Leader’s Training in June. Stevens Series awards 4.2
CEUs to those who attend training and who want CEU credit. Also,
Stephen Series invites participants to bring a nonparticipating
guest to stay in the participant’s room at no additional charge.
Registration fee waivers are available to members of the
congregation who feel called to serve God, the LPC congregation
and larger community as Stephen leaders. You may contact Stephen
Leaders David Wiszneauckas (559.4422); Sandra Wiszneauckas
(894.1833) Louise Sadler (878.8410) or John Lown (877.4428) to
obtain a copy of the Leader Selection Booklet which
answers many questions about the role of a Stephen Leader and to
receive a Stephen Series Registration Form.
Stephen Ministry BIO BRIEF - Sandra Spatz-Wiszneauckas,
Stephen Leader Awareness and Ownership Coordinator, was born and
raised in the village of Cross Keys near Reading, PA. Sandra was
raised in the Reformed Protestant faith and was a member of a
congregation that shared its church with a Lutheran
congregation. Sandra first visited Lafayette Presbyterian Church
in March, 2006 and joined in June, 2007. Before joining the LPC,
Sandra was a member of Warner Memorial Presbyterian Church,
Kensington, MD where she and her husband, David, were married.
During her church life at Warner, Sandra served as Deacon;
Moderator, Presbyterian Women; Stephen Minister, and member of
the Commission to Community (mission outreach.) Sandra’s faith
journey includes witnessing and personally experiencing the
healing power of the Holy Spirit; visiting Biblical sites and
offering devotions with David on the Sea of Galilee, on Mt.
Nebo, and in the Sinai Desert. Sandra cites 2 Corinthians 5:7 as
a passage of scripture key in her faith.
Please include, in your prayers, our LPC Stephen Ministers
and Ministry, those whose lives have been touched by Stephen
Ministry, and those whose lives will be touched by Stephen
Ministry.
