ANOTHER ADVENT EVENT
With KIRK NIGHT, Nov. 12, 2008
FAMILY FUN to PREPARE THE WAY for CHRISTMAS
Think it is too early to start our Christmas celebration? What an exciting and meaningful way for our congregation to Prepare the Way for JESUS.
Whether you are a family of one, two or ten(!) all ages will enjoy this year’s Advent Event. There will be story time, music, games, time to share a Christmas memory, as well as an easy family craft project to make and take home.
Please bring any ribbon, artificial greenery, or small ornaments to share plus a plate of cookies and/or some candy!!! Most important is for you to sign up the Sunday before so we will have enough basic craft supplies for every family.
Supper begins serving at 5:30 p.m. and our Advent Event will begin at 6:15!

Come to Honor Mary Lee Grafe!
On Sunday, November 23rd, we will honor Mary Lee Grafe for the blessings of faith and joy we have received from her. Mary Lee will soon be moving away from Tallahassee, and we want to embrace her in our love and appreciation.
Following the Service of Worship on November 23rd, a reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall, sponsored by the Presbyterian Women, in honor of Mary Lee.
We hope all Lafayette members will be present to express their affection to Mary Lee!

Presbyterian Women Thank Offering
Thank you for your gifts to the Presbyterian Women Thank Offering. Our Lafayette Church Offering of $ 810 will contribute to the development of Christian health care ministries in both the United States and overseas.
Our collection of food for E.C.H.O. in September amounted to 26 boxes plus two very large yard bags of cereal boxes ... over 1,200 pounds. We delivered the food, once again, just in time to fill empty shelves at ECHO. Thank you, all who brought food so generously!!
CROP WALK 2008 ... will take place from E. Peck Green Park on Sunday, November 9th, at 2:00 p.m. We will be signing up both Walkers and Sponsoring Contributors for the 1 or 3 mile Walks.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD is underway . . .
Drop off your boxes by November 16th. Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse has been delivering shoe box gifts since 1993. More than 61 million have been delivered to boys and girls in some 130 nations. The Circle of Friends would like to invite everyone in the church to become a part of this ministry and be blessed as well. Brochures are available in the Narthex which will give you complete instructions on how to put together a shoe box gift. The contents of the sample box cost $12.00. It also costs $7.00 for shipping and handling, so if you are unable to put a box together, we will be accepting monetary donations in case some people are unable to pay for both. All funds collected will go towards this ministry in some way. Please contact Bonnie Burns for more information at 877-9063.
