WORSHIP COMMITTEE NEWS
The Worship Committee oversees the sanctuary and ensures that everything is in order for all worship services. This includes preparing the table and elements for communion services. We also prepare the sanctuary for special church holidays such as the Chrismon tree, window decorations and poinsettias for Advent and Christmas. At Lent we drape the cross in appropriate colors and we order and arrange the lilies for Easter Sunday.
Our next event coming up will be the Harvest Table. We cover the communion table with fruits and vegetables as a visual representation of the earth's bounty for which we celebrate Thanksgiving. We invite the congregation to share in this by contributing fresh fruits and vegetables. Fliers will be going out in November bulletins with dates and details. Leftover food is donated to a local charity.
We welcome visitors and new members to our committee meetings. Current members are Diane Dowling, Karen Gunter, Louise Sadler, and Matt
Weinell.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE NEWS
FELLOWSHIP LUNCHEON: The November Fellowship Luncheon will be sponsored by the Finance and the Stewardship Committees. There will NOT be an entrée provided in November. This is your chance to whip up your wonderful main dish to go along with your side dish or dessert. We had a wonderful assortment of dishes last month and plenty to share with our visitors and guests. I am sure that they enjoyed and appreciated the hospitality and fellowship.
This will be the last month that the entrée will not be provided by the committee, unless there is a special occasion. The December luncheon will be our annual Christmas Luncheon and in January we will go back to the Committees providing the entrée for every luncheon. If the entrée is provided by the host committee, that does not mean that you cannot still bring one of your special recipes, however. Members have enjoyed sampling all of the personal and family entrée recipes over the past year.
