Words of Appreciation for this Christmas

We give thanks to Dr. Linda Lovins, Director of Music, Dr. Deloise Lima-Ohlsson, Accompanist, and every member of our fine Adult Choir for the special music they prepared and presented to lift up our worship experience during Advent and Christmas. To you who rang handbells and to David Tucker, violinist, and Ivan Tucker, pianist, for their playing in our Christmas Eve Worship, we are also thankful. Thank you all!

Thank you to Lynda Blount .... Throughout the year, yet especially during the period from Thanksgiving to Christmas, our life around the church is full of extra activity and needs. Lynda Blount, our Administrative Secretary, is the one who handles phone calls and visitors, special needs and requests, and puts together the worship bulletins, song sheets, notices, and countless assignments and duties that are invaluable to our experience and celebration of faith and discipleship in this final month of the year. We express our gratitude to Lynda for her help and labors on behalf of us all!

Thanks, children and youth of the church ~ for the Christmas Eve Nativity!

This year we held our first Family Service on Christmas Eve (at 5:00 p.m.). In addition to the Scripture Readings and Carols, during the service our young people from the age of 3 and up took on costumes of the participants in the first Christmas, coming to the stable and manger as shepherds, angels, wise men, and the holy family, to the reading of “Tobias’ Story” - the innkeeper on that special night. We thank Beth House and the Christian Education Committee for planning this service, and for the help of Lea Reeves in the costuming and guidance of the young people who came.

The Christmas Decorations in the church brought great joy and meaning to our celebration ... the Chrismon Tree, the candle arrangements in the sanctuary, the poinsettia, the door wreaths. We thank our Worship Committee for their service again in adding this beauty to our worship experiences: Karen Gunter, Chair; and Diane Dowling, Louise Sadler, and Matt Weinell.

Our December Fellowship Luncheon was among our finest and most enjoyable thanks to the hard work of our Hosts, the Membership Committee! And we do thank Jeff Richardson, Chair; and Carole and Phil Ferguson, Lois and Ken Johnson, Carolyn and Jim Smith, Christy Stacey and Rita Tucker of the committee.
